5 AASECT/ISEE CEs
Class Description
Treating clients evidencing problematic sexual behaviors has been an area from which many clinicians have shied away. In recent years, a number of researchers and clinicians have proposed a conceptualization that views out of control sexual behavior (OCSB) from a sexual health lens as opposed to one steeped in pathology, religiosity, and/or moralistic views of sexuality.
This course will provide an overview of current understandings related to defining, assessing, and treating Out of Control Sexual Behavior.
Learning Objectives
- Define Out of Control Sexual Behavior
- Discuss challenges to conceptualizing OCSB
- Explain at least one conceptualization of sexual health
- List the relational stresses frequently associated with OCSB
- Discuss components of the OCSB assessment process
- Describe approaches to treatment planning
