A Competency Certificate is a small- to a medium-sized collection of webinars that lead the learner through a particular path of study with the goal of gaining expertise in a particular subject. ISEE currently offers Competency Certificates in the following:

Sex and the Body: Common Health Issues and Sexuality. This competency certificate gives the learner an overview of 4 major health issues and how they impact sexuality. Courses include:

  1. Safer Sex & STIs for Professionals: Contraception, Prevention, and Sexual Decision Making: Learn the newest types of common contraception, the most updated facts about STIs, and some fun facts about our history as well as ideas to consider for our work when it comes to this important topic.

  2. Pregnancy and Sexuality: This course will cover the basics of pregnancy body changes related to sexual health and then dive into an exploration of the emotions, fears, and most common concerns.

  3. Sex Under the Influence: Substance Abuse and Sexuality. Substance abuse can create particular sexual issues and problems that last even after a person is in recovery. Learn what they are, as well as some common sexual side effects of often used pharmaceuticals.

  4. When Sex Goes WrongThis class has two parts, with 2 Instructors. Part 1: When Sex Goes Wrong: Common Sexual Dysfunctions Men and People Assigned Male at Birth This in-depth workshop will cover selected research on "male" sexuality, aspects of anatomy and physiology, and healthy sexual functioning of people with penises and testes. Participants will be exposed to a holistic view of male sexuality that includes sexual roles, common attitudes, and healthy sexual function. Common problems are covered such as erectile function, desire issues, male body image. Therapeutic options will also be discussed at length. Psychological and cultural factors that impact sexual function will also be addressed in this interactive and informative workshop.
