Everyone has something to say about pregnancy, even if they've never been pregnant! And BDSM and kink safety during pregnancy and postpartum?! Now, everyone's got a few words to say. Yet, BDSM and kink safety during pregnancy and postpartum is often overlooked in health care settings and in sexual health education spaces because of lack of education, discomfort, cultural nuances, and more. In this presentation, I will go over BDSM and kink myths, pregnancy facts, and tips for ensuring that people can have safe fun during their pregnancy and postpartum.

Learning Objectives: 

1. Describe approaches that promote effective interdisciplinary prenatal BDSM and kink awareness and inclusive care.

2. Identify psychosexual concerns that may necessitate an interdisciplinary approach, including consultations, collaboration, and referrals when working with pregnant individuals.

3. Evaluate safety approaches for discussing BDSM and kink with patients.
