This class will explore what is involved in trauma and how working somatically can âbreak the trauma spell.â Discussed will be the short and long term effects of trauma, best practices to treat sexual trauma, ways people can manage flashbacks and triggers, and selfcare tools for therapists, educators, and those we work with.

5. Name at least 2 ways people can manage flashbacks/triggers in sexual situations.
6. Identify tools to use during a sexual experience when a partner is having a trauma response.
7. Understand common somatic practices for treating trauma.
