Please be sure you are available to attend both sessions of the day. Attendance for both sessions is required in order to receive full credit.

Class description:

What is the difference between Domination/submission and S/M? What is a kink? Are fetishes healthy? What is the nature of the sexual power exchange? What are some dynamics of sexual sensation play? What types of behaviors are involved, what are the “rules” or good guidelines for people who want to practice kink? In this workshop, we will explore definitions, discuss varieties of behaviors, begin to understand the vast world of power exchange, and be introduced to various fetishes.

Participants will practice discerning consensual behaviors from abuse using a respected rubric.

Learning Objectives:

  • Define at least three BDSM terms, such as: D/s, 24/7 power exchange, play party, aftercare, munch, etc.
  • Identify at least 1 intersectional issue in BDSM communities.
  • Recognize at least one type of pre-COVID BDSM gathering.
  • Name 2 common misconceptions about kink and BDSM.
  • Identify 3 consent models.
  • Recognize the three phases of a BDSM Scene.

You must attend both sessions for credit. You must attend the full day of the course and cannot mix and match the AM and PM sessions with another day/time. If we cannot verify your attendance for more than 20 minutes, you will be marked absent and not be given credit for any portion of the course.
